Introduction

The village and parish of Great Broughton (population circa 940) lies 2.5 miles south of the market town of Stokesley in the North Yorkshire district of Hambleton.Situated on the B1257 at the foot of the Cleveland Hills, the village provides an important northern gateway to the North Yorks Moors National Park and is a popular overnight stopover for walkers on the Wainwright Coast to Coast route and the Cleveland Way.
